The Role:
As a biotechnology patent agent you are responsible for drafting, prosecuting both foreign and domestic patents for a variety of companies and clients. Experience with freedom to operate (FTO) analysis is preferred. You will assist and advise patent attorneys by analyzing scientific papers and documents while also providing counseling and organization for litigation.
As an experienced patent agent you must be USPTO registered with a PhD in a life science adjacent degree). Previous experience working
The Individual:
- Must be a registered USPTO patent agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and otherwise meet the requirements for registration as a patent agent.
- PhD in biotechnology or a related field (Biotechnology, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics, genetics, etc).
- Substantive industry experience in biotechnology or life sciences preferred.
- Ability to work hybrid, reporting into the Palo Alto office 2-3 days a week.
- Must have superb technical, written and verbal communication skills in English.
