CV Scientist / Engineer - San Francisco Bay Area - Robotics Company, $190k+ bonus/stocks

We are partnered with an intelligent AI robotics company who are providing AI-based robots for precision manufacturing. Replacing manual labor with intelligent robots that is valued within Factory 4.0 projections as a $10bn industry alone.

Founded by a proven serial entrepreneur who sold his previous start-up to Elon Musk for $350M. With over two and half decades of experience of spearheading technology and engineering innovation in AI/robotics, semiconductor and solar energy industries.

They are developing AI-based robots that are highly versatile, flexible and adaptive. Performing the most challenging assembly in smartphone manufacturing with very strong algorithms, high speed and high-resolution 3D imaging and visual servo for ready secured consumer electronics manufacturing giants.

The role

We are hiring for a Senior CV Research Scientist to join the founding team. Developing the next generation of algorithms to enable robots to perceive and understand their environment and surroundings.

You will be involved in driving technical decisions and collaborating with Software Engineers, Optical Engineers and Robotics Engineers in developing and deploying algorithms for elite production-line robotic development.

As a part of core vision team, you will be responsible for developing next generation of algorithms to enable robot to perceive and understand its environment. You will collaborate with software engineers, optical engineers and robotics engineers in developing and deploying algorithms.


  • PhD (or M.S with minimum 5 years of industrial experience) in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Experience in any of the following: 3D reconstruction, multiple camera calibration, camera pose estimation, 3D objects detection / segmentation.
  • Proficient in Python and C++.
  • Experience in OpenCV, PyTorch / TensorFlow / Keras, PCL.
  • Strong understanding of linear algebra, probability theory and optimization.
  • Willingness to learn and work in variety of technical areas outside your comfort zone.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
