Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Manager to coordinate construction support services related to municipal compliance initiatives. This role acts as the operational bridge between internal teams and third-party construction vendors, ensuring that projects are properly scoped, scheduled, tracked, and completed in accordance with local requirements.
This position is focused on coordination, workflow management, and project visibility rather than hands-on construction. It is ideal for someone highly organized, operations-focused, and experienced in managing external contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations related to outsourced infrastructure and construction activities
- Coordinate third-party contractors, including scheduling, scope alignment, and performance tracking
- Review and analyze construction drawings to ensure accurate field execution
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact between contractors and internal teams
- Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets
- Ensure all work complies with local and state building codes and regulatory standards
- Track permits, inspections, and required documentation to ensure compliance
- Identify, escalate, and help resolve operational issues, delays, or budget concerns
- Maintain accurate project records, including inspections and close-out documentation
- Conduct or coordinate site visits and confirm deployment readiness
- Provide regular project updates to internal stakeholders and leadership
- Intake & Scoping: Translate municipal requirements and inspection findings into actionable scopes of work
- Vendor Coordination: Partner with procurement and vendor management teams to assign and align contractors
- Permitting & Documentation: Work with administrative and compliance teams to ensure complete and accurate records
- Execution & Tracking: Monitor progress and communicate updates, risks, and escalations
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in construction management, project operations, or contractor coordination
- Proven experience managing third-party construction vendors
- Strong understanding of construction workflows, scheduling, and project execution
- Experience with budget tracking, invoicing, and documentation management
- Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
Preferred Experience
- PMP certification or equivalent project management experience
- Background in municipal, compliance-driven, or inspection-related construction
- Experience working with permitting offices or inspectors
- Familiarity with construction/project management software
